”We loved our stay. We thought the layout of the complex was very clever and offered residents a lot of privacy. It was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. A really lovely tranquil place to go to get away from it all. And yet shops, restaurants and people were close by should you need them. And plenty of things for youngsters to do too. A great family getaway that is very close to the airport and all major motorways. The restaurant on the complex was very good and so convenient. The people were so very nice and helpful. We would go back year after year. Loved, loved, loved it!!”

”We had a lovely time thanks! We thought the park was lovely and tranquil and enjoyed the space for the children to play and go on the bikes without cars. We found the lodge was well equipped and cosy. Our only negative comment would be that despite paying the obligatory cleaning fee, a lot of the crockery and cutlery etc was quite dirty on arrival and needed rewashing before use. In all other respects we enjoyed it very much. The staff were friendly and helpful.”

”We had a great holiday in your Villa. All three of our children aged 18,15 and 11 were very happy for two weeks. The house was extremely comfortable. It was a good size, loads of room, the beds were comfortable and the clean sheets and towels were luxurious. My children enjoyed the pool and we visited the local beaches, historical chateaus, restaurants and discovered the local lakes. 5 stars. Many thanks for all your help with booking, the personal service was very reassuring.

”We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay at Chateau de Salles. Our villa had more than enough room for my family of six (which includes 3 teenagers!). Very comfortable inside and lovely outside eating and bbq area. Quiet and peaceful grounds. Great pool and other sports facilities. Restaurant and bar were a little expensive for us (6.80euros for a large beer seemed excessive) but the food was fantastic. And there are a couple of other great restaurants within walking distance at the entrance of the site and in the local town of Salles. We will definitely return in the near future.”

”We had a great time in Salles. The villa was well equipped and maintained. The site was peaceful and quiet but with enough to keep the children occupied. We found Salles to be a great location. We would definitely consider returning.”

”We had a lovely holiday, we were very impressed with the village of Salles and we enjoyed our stay in Chateau de Salles. Our experience was mostly positive: the people are so lovely, the management, staff. The area is beautiful, calm and quiet. It was lovely to feel safe if one wanted to go for a walk and we made great use of the pool, the squash court and the tennis court. The restaurant onsite is under new ownership since June, we were very impressed with the food and the friendliness of the staff. I loved the fact that there were not many English speakers, it was mostly Dutch and some French. The villa itself is a little dated, not a really negative thing but I didn’t feel like it was deeply clean and fresh if you understand me. I paid for the cleaning, but left it in a clean state anyway. The management assured me that they would check the villa and return the deposit but as of yet I haven’t received it. Would I go back, absolutely! I really felt it was like a home from home.”

”We had a great time at the Chateau de Salles, comfortable and quiet in delightfully relaxed parkland surrounds, far more forest-like than I had anticipated. Facilities in the grounds were excellent – the pool got a lot of use by all of us, especially the kids, and the games area was well used. The well-equipped kitchen meant that home cooking kept food costs under control, although the barbecue failed to ignite satisfactorily – probably down to the abilities of the chef. Congratulations should go to the chef of the restaurant L’Eyre 2 Rien – we had a wonderful meal there in delightful surroundings on a themed Reggae evening – so great music accompanying a delicious dinner, although for many people it would be extravagant to dine out there every evening. It’s a lovely part of France, with a huge range of activities to occupy the family, from a simple kerbside coffee watching the village of Salles go about its daily life (the winner for the kids being able to buy fresh baked baguettes from a vending machine (surely unique to France), to climbing to the top of the Dune de Pyla at nearby Teste de Buch, the highest sand dune in Europe to look out over the Atlantic. The village markets were great opportunities for checking out local produce and sampling some interesting tastes, and then shopping expeditions in Bordeaux and Arcachon satisfied the compulsive browsers among us. Water sports, Aqua parks, swimming in clean clear lakes as well as the sea – not a day went by without some kind of total immersion. All in all, a very successful and enjoyable holiday, with a final note to thank the management for going out their way to retrieve and return personal items left at the airport on our return journey.”

”Thank you for all of your assistance and help with managing our booking, we had the most wonderful time, the resort is fantastic! We completely fell in love with our Villa, it was clean, comfortable and stylish and had all the comforts you would need. The BBQ and sun terrace were particularly enjoyed! The pool was so relaxing and just right for all of the family to enjoy, including our parents and our toddler! We loved exploring the local area – Salles is delightful, with lots of lovely things to see and do, especially the river activities. All of the staff at Château de Salle were really helpful and friendly – we absolutely loved eating in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and enjoyed a few cocktails by the pool on a couple of evenings too. We would highly recommend staying at Château de Salles to people of all ages but especially to those with children – we hope to be back again!”

”We had really nice holidays at Chateau de Salles. We liked the beautiful house, comfortably arranged with nice furniture and the fully equipped kitchen (including a microwave oven and a dishwasher) The terraces were fine too, but we couldn’t use them because it was too hot those days. Every morning we enjoyed the breakfast outside, when the sun was covered by clouds. We liked the clean pool area and the swimming in fresh water. Because it was in the pre-season there were not many people. Our daughter ‘s 16th birthday we celebrated at the brand new restaurant near the pool. The tacos were delicious! Whenever we had a problem we could solve it with the help of the nice staff who spoke English very well. Special thanks to the young Dutch lady who found our bathing towel and kept it. We can really recommend spending holidays at Chateau de Salles.”

“We had a fabulous holiday with both the location, accommodation and facilities being perfect for our needs. Having fans in the villa was a godsend during some very hot nights.”

“We had a wonderful holiday. The facilities at the Chateau were wonderful. The one thing that would have been nice to have is a list of local restaurants.”

“The boys loved it and especially the freedom of being able to cycle around the camp site in a safe environment. It was great to be in a house too.
We kyakked, went to the sand dunes at Pyla, to Biscarosse and the water park. The only down side of days further afield was the August traffic!
Our only comments on the house were that it was a little tired. In some ways that was fine because we could relax there with two young lads no “be careful “nagging!
The dishwasher was difficult to manage required a real shove to close the door and thought the upstairs loo without a handbasin with little boys was a bit if a disadvantage.
I really don’t want to sound negative as there were so many positives and feel sure that various combinations of our family are very likely to return.”

“We had a lovely time in France. The villa was great and had everything we needed. The site was great and we used the kids club a few days and the children enjoyed themselves. All the staff were very attentive and did everything they could to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The only negatives I would say on the site were the restaurant (the food was not good – the worst meal we had in France) and the bikes we hired were not great at all, I would recommend anyone looking to hire bikes does so from another provider. The area is lovely though and there were lots of other good restaurants in the town to go to. The mid-week clean we requested was very minimal but the manager recognised that and gave us a partial refund.”

“We had a fabulous time in France. All in all the domain is great and the accommodation generally very good. As with all self catering it would be nice if there was a “basics” pack of household kit e.g dishtowel that you don’t think of when flying. I understand aircon is expensive to install and run so insect screens on the bedroom windows/doors would have been a great solution to being roasted or eaten alive! The staff were very friendly and although it seemed 98% Dutch that wasn’t a problem for us as we don’t want to go somewhere to be surrounded by English (or Scottish) people. The whole place was very clean and safe and the pool was great. I think they could have done a little more with things e.g wine tasting events etc as they have the space and a captive audience and I think that could be a really good income stream in conjunction with a supplier. Lastly, I cannot fault the service we have had from yourself. It has been so easy and you have kept us well informed. I meant to drop you a thank you for mentioning my son’s birthday as they had the most amazing cake waiting in the fridge. That was a fabulous touch and much appreciated. Thank you. I have already recommended you to some friends and depending on holiday plans going forward i would have absolutely no hesitation in booking via yourself again.”

“We had a lovely visit and we’re very impressed with the inside of the villa and local surroundings. …We had such a fantastic stay, the villa was very clean, with modern decor/items and well equipped. We were so happy to be able to take our dog with us and felt very welcomed and looked after by reception. The area was beautiful and a very pleasant place to visit. It was made very easy on how to book, with excellent correspondence from yourself and all costs were made apparent and clear. We would definitely look to book up again with you in the future. Thank you for all your help and for providing a lovely holiday villa.”

“The villa was very good and clean and tidy on arrival, the restaurant on site was a bit limited for choice even they what was on offer was good quality. I would recommend Villa Champagne to friends and family.”

“We did have a wonderful holiday. The site is so lovely and peaceful…The staff in the office were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return and also have recommended the place to the rest of our family. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.”

“We had a wonderful holiday. The house was very comfortable- clean, very well appointed and just easy to be in and relax in. We spent most evenings just chatting in the lovely space outside. We also loved having the pool. The staff and the domain itself were also wonderful – everyone was helpful and cheerful. We loved the area and the closeness of the beaches. All in all, we were very impressed. The only downside for us was that we are not really holiday village people in that we welcome private space a bit more. However, I cannot fault the house or the domain at all – they were both excellent. The service you provided was very impressive – you are professional, helpful and helped everything flow for a relaxing family holiday we all enjoyed.”

”We enjoyed our stay and would come again/recommend to friends.”

“We had a wonderful holiday thank you very much. We thought the accommodation was lovely and especially where is was situated in a lovely shady spot, especially considering how hot it was! The only things we left comments about with the reception staff were that quite a few plug sockets were coming away from the wall and also we had to buy an extension lead as there was no plug socket near a mirror for me to use the hair dryer. However these were very small worries and didn’t in any way stop us from having a super time. We would definitely like to come back at some point.

“Property in a quiet setting within wooded parkland, perfect for outdoor activities. The villa is a little on the small side and without air-conditioning and shutters it was a little difficult in 37 degrees heat. However we did take advantage of the lovely pool though they could have extended the opening hours.”
