This tastefully decorated 19th century property sits on gentle sloping lawns, among superbly kept garden and grounds located just 10km from the Mediterranean coast – which is quite a rare combination. The property is situated set just inland from the hustle and bustle of the coast just 1500m from the small village of La Mole with an award-winning bakery, small selection of shops, restaurants and bar. The beaches of Rayol-Canadel-Sur-Mer, La Croix Valmer and Cavalaire sur Mer are all within a short drive. Also, easily accessible is St Tropez Bay with popular resorts such as Port Grimaud, Sainte Maxime and Saint Tropez itself.

There are also numerous activities available in the area such as walking, horse riding, tennis, golf, go-karting to name just a few as well as wide range of water sports on the coast. If you like entertainment, during the summer, the nearby village of Grimaud (14km) comes alive during the summer with the Grimaldines Festival held on four separate days over a four-week period. The festival attracts artists from all over the world offering free street music as well as evening concerts in the castle’s open-air theatre.

Capacity restricted for your comfort but an additional annexe is available for two (ideal for teenagers or young adults) at extra cost making the sleeping capacity 14.

The old natural flagstone floor insures constant coolness in the summer. The living room opens onto the lower terrace. Steps up to office with fireplace, sofa and armchairs.

First floor TV room with TV (some English speaking channels including Sky News, BBC World News and American channels) and sofas.

Bedroom 2: Bedroom with double bed (140cm), French door leading to garden and en suite shower room.
Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom (beds can be pushed together to form a King size bed, 180cm), French door opens onto the upper terrace and adjoining shower room.
Bedroom 4: Bedroom with four single beds (2 x 90cm and 2 x 80cm) (ideal for children or teenagers) and adjoining bathroom.
Bedroom 5: Bedroom with double bed (140cm), additional sofa which opens into a single bed (90cm), French doors leading to garden and adjoining bathroom.
Bedroom 6: Twin bedroom (beds can be pushed together to form a King size bed, 180cm), view onto the lower terrace and en suite bathroom.

Large outdoor terrace ideal for all party members to get together and enjoy dining al fresco under the shade of the plane trees. Outdoor furniture, charcoal barbecue and gas plancha on request. Twelve sun loungers. Ample parking within the grounds for at least six cars including a small car port for three cars.

Pool

Heated pool 12 x 6m, depth 1.3-1.9m. Security system: Alarm. Ladder. The pool is located approximately 100m from the property and cannot be seen from the property.

Changeover day

Arrive any day (except between 29/6/24 and 31/8/24 when Saturday changeovers only).
Check-in between 4-8pm. Checkout before 10am.
Two-week bookings only 20/7/24-17/8/2024.

Included in the rent

  • Bed linen and towels (including pool towels). For two week stays bed linen and towels are changed half-way through the stay.
  • Water and electricity (including pool heating).
  • Two hours of daily cleaning Monday to Friday and also the end of stay cleaning. Whilst the end of stay cleaning is included the property must be left in good order (kitchen, dishes done and put away, bins emptied and all linen put together in a pile). Failing that a charge may apply.

  • Refundable security deposit: 500€ (cash) payable on arrival. The security deposit will be returned on departure once an inventory has been completed and shown that no furniture, fixtures, fittings or linen is missing, damaged or soiled.

  • Pets allowed but must be very well-behaved. Please request at time of booking.
  • No smoking in the villa.
  • Hair dryers available.
  • A separate annexe sleeping 2 and located about 15m from the main house is available at a supplement of 550€ per week comprising two single beds (2 x 90cm), adjoining shower room, separate wc and kitchen area. DAY TRIP IDEAS

Grimaud (14km)
Grimaud is a charming medieval village with a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants ranging from traditional to haute cuisine. Grimaud is one of many inland villages and has its own unique character. We highly recommend you pay a visit to the antique market the Brocante du Jas des Roberts. A must-see place for all bargain hunters.

Port Grimaud (16km)
Port Grimaud is a modern development built with colourful, traditional style fisherman’s houses lining canals, and has become known as known as the Venice of Provence. It is split into four islands linked by bridges over the waterways and is best visited by water bus.

Saint Tropez (20km – 30min or 20-30min by boat from Port Grimaud)
Saint Tropez is the jewel on the crown of the Cote d’Azur. With its unbelievable charm, this fishing port with chic pavement cafés, shops and sophisticated nightlife still attracts celebrities from around the globe. Arguably everything in St Tropez is famous: over forty beaches such as the Bouillabaisse, Canoubiers and Salins, the legendary Place des Lices in the heat of the town dotted with cafés shaded by plane trees and locals playing boules. Whilst the hype of the 1960’s has settled, Saint Tropez remains a very attractive spot for the international Jet Set and people watching here remains a favourite sport! Regular boat trips to St Tropez. This is a great way of discovering St Tropez without the hassle of having to park your car or getting stuck in traffic. Crossings take 20-30 minutes and costs around 13€ per person return from Port Grimaud.

Ramatuelle (21km)
Why not take a trip to the famous Pampelonne beach? This is where the rich and famous of St Tropez usually hang out during the summer months. There are lots of well-known restaurants dotted along the beach such as the famous Club 55 which in spite of its success has managed to retain its charm. The beach stretches over several kilometres with a string of wonderful coves and rocky inlets so all you have to do is take a stroll and take your pick! In contrast, you can visit the peaceful perched village of Ramatuelle which offers great views along the coast.

Sainte Maxime (23km)
Located on Saint Tropez Bay, the seaside resort of Sainte Maxime faces the Mediterranean Sea and is sheltered from the wind by the Maures Mountains. Take a stroll through the lively pedestrian streets of the old town right up to the pier overlooking the bay. There is a choice of lovely beaches in and around Sainte Maxime including the long, sandy La Croisette beach and the smaller beaches in nearby La Nartelle. There are also private beaches with restaurants available. There is ample parking in Sainte Maxime however it does get very busy in high season. There are numerous water sports activities available and also leisure activities such as golf, tennis but also walking, hiking and horse-riding in the nearby Maures Mountains. A boat trip across the bay is a great way of discovering St Tropez without the hassle of having to park your car or getting stuck in traffic. Crossings take 15 minutes and costs around 13€ per person return.

Frejus, Saint-Raphael (44km)
Fréjus is an ancient military port and Roman city with a rich historical and architectural heritage. You will find some superb Roman remains including a Roman theatre still used for various summer events and one of the largest amphitheatres from Gallic times. Take a boat trip out to the nearby Lérins islands which offer fantastic views, pine and eucalyptus fragrance, unique plant species and the Fort Royal, the former residence of the Man in the Iron Mask.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES

Local walk: A privately maintained trail leads past the house to the Monastere Notre Dame de Clémence de la Verne (Carthusian monastery of La Verne) located high in the Maures mountains. This is a fairly easy walk. Allow three hours to get there. You may also like to climb up to the nearby ruins of Sainte Madeleine to discover some extraordinary views over St Tropez Bay and Provencal hills.

Aqualand, Sainte Maxime (25km): Outdoor water park featuring waterslides, a splash area for children and a swimming pool. Larger water park in Fréjus (37km).
Provence Aventure (42km): Tree top adventure park set in a beautiful oak forest on the banks of a river. There are a number of routes for everyone to enjoy depending on age and ability as well as a spectacular zip line 250m above the river.

Parc Zoologique Fréjus (77km): Situated in the foothills of the Esterel Mountains, the animal reserve of covers 20 hectares and is visited by car. There are elephants, zebra, primates, pink flamingos, wildcats and many more.

Golf: Cogolin (10km), Grimaud (15km).

Tennis: Cogolin (2km).

Horse-riding: (600m).

Go-karting: Grimaud (16km).
