La Maison de Saint Pierre is a very well-presented villa set in one hectare of enclosed grounds with truly superb countryside views and air conditioning throughout the house. It also boasts a very large private heatable swimming pool with huge terrace and pool house.
The house can sleep up to twelve people in its six comfortable double bedrooms, two on the ground floor and four on the first floor. Space, peace and incredible views, this villa has everything to make your stay a memorable one.
There are plenty of activities in and around the property for grown-ups and children alike to enjoy. These include the large pool, huge terrace and pool house with barbecue, plancha and a pizza oven. There is also a boules court to play a game of pétanque, a flat grass area for children to kick a ball around and last but not least a vegetable patch for where you can pick your own seasonal produce.
If you are looking for a restful approach to your holiday there are several relaxing sitting areas inside and outside the villa including a hammock where you can enjoy reading a book, sipping of glass of wine or simply take in the views. If you like topping up your tan there is plenty of space to sunbathe and admire the magnificent, surrounding Luberon mountains. If you are more of an indoor person, you can also watch the large TV or play video games.
The Luberon is a truly remarkable region of France to explore. There are many wonderful villages to visit, the nearby Colorado Provencal with its incredible ochre-coloured rocks and the famous lavender fields. The market town of Apt with its famous Saturday market is only 15 minutes’ drive away. This market has taken place for centuries and occupies the whole of the old town. This is a definite must! Close by (2km) in the village of Saint Saturnin lès Apt there is a food shop, bakery, restaurants and bar so if you need anything nothing is very far away.

Pool

Pool size: 14 x 6m. Depth 1.2-1.7m. Security system: cover. Saltwater pool. (A saltwater pool has much lower salinity than sea water and because it has lower chlorine levels it is much gentler on the eyes and skin). Steps down to the pool.
Open from April to end of September. Possibility to heat the pool in May and June for a 200€ per week supplement and must be requested at the time of booking.

Changeover day

Saturday. Flexible arrival and departure dates before June and from October. Please enquire.
Check-in between 4-8pm. Checkout before 10am.

Included in the rent

  • Water and electricity.
  • Bed linen and towels (including pool towels). For two week-stays or more a change of bed linen and towel can be provided on request at the time of booking.
  • End of stay cleaning. Whilst the end of stay cleaning is included the property must be left in good order (kitchen, dishes done and put away, bins emptied and all linen put together in a pile). Failing that a charge may apply.

  • Refundable security deposit: 500€ (cash) payable on arrival. The security deposit will be returned on departure once an inventory has been completed and shown that no furniture, fixtures, fittings or linen is missing, damaged or soiled.
  • Holiday tax: The amount may vary from one year to another. Please ask at the time of booking.

  • Pool heating (May and June only) 200€ per week. Must be requested at the time of booking.

The Colorado Provencal (12km)
Situated between the villages of Rustrel and Gignac waymarked walks take you through a unique and colourful desert scenery with yellow and red rock formations created when ochre was quarried in the area.

Villars (6.5km)
A little village built on top of a small hill with pretty views.

Saignon (13.5km)
With its Roman church  and superb views from the top of the village, Saignon is a must!

Gordes (16km)
Perched on a rock, Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France has been one of Provence’s watchtowers, watching over the Luberon forests for centuries. Its rich history and sublime panorama make Gordes one of the must-see villages of Provence. With narrow, winding cobblestone streets, wonderful architecture and amazing views Gordes will enchant you but beware the village gets very busy in summer!

Lavender fields around Sault (24km)
Around June-July and onto August the scent and colour of lavender fields encapsulate the very essence of Provence. The French author Jean Giono called lavender “the soul of Provence”. There is a concentration of lavender fields from the high plateaux around Sault, at the foot of the famous Mont Ventoux, and also around Apt and Gordes.

Hilltop village with Medieval castle and international Baroque music festival in summer.

Parc Naturel Regional du Luberon (34km)
This is a region of stunning natural beauty with superb, varied scenery and outstanding views. To the north you will find the wild mountain scenery of the Vaucluse hills and famous Mont Ventoux. To the south the amazing oak and pine covered slopes of the Luberon mountains. The Luberon valley is dotted with vineyards, cherry orchards and lavender fields enhanced by stunning hill-top villages. This region is also renowned for its quality restaurants and locally produced fruit, cheeses, honey and many other irresistible delights. You will also find many very good local vineyards producing excellent Cotes du Luberon and Cotes de Ventoux with tastings available at all the small Domains as well as the two big ‘Cave Cooperatives’. Colourful Provencal fabrics and beautiful table linen are also available in the charming local markets along with a large variety of pottery. A number of the villages have art galleries where you can view and buy from local artists.

Banon (34km)
Buy some of the famous and tasty Banon goat cheese at either market (every Tuesday and Saturday morning) and visit Le Bleuet, a fascinating book shop spread over four floors in the heart of the village.

Reillane (36km)
A fascinating and authentic Provencal village famous for its incredible festival in June. Wander through the historic old village or visit the Sunday morning market.

DAY TRIP IDEAS

L’Isle sur la Sorgue (32km)
L’Isle sur la Sorgue is a pretty market town, much loved for its antique shops and twice weekly markets. Once an important fishing town, with an abundance of crayfish in the River Sorgue, there are also several canals running through the centre. Perhaps, unsurprisingly, the town has been called the Venice of Provence. The river has influenced the development of the town, providing for thriving crafts and industries, flour mills, wool and silk workshops. Many of the waterwheels remain adding to the picturesque charm of the town. Each Sunday there is quite a carnival atmosphere with a flea market, regarded as of the best antique markets in France (Thursday in normal market day).

Avignon (53km)
Avignon, on the banks of the Rhone, is probably best-known these days for the children’s song – Sur le Pont d’Avignon. But for several decades in the 14th century it was the capital of Christendom, after Pope Clement V moved his court here to avoid the chaos in Rome. The legacy of that papal schism can be seen today in the city’s UNESCO-protected architecture, including the vast Palais des Papes. And nearby Châteauneuf-du-Pape, site of a now-ruined castle built by a later pope, still produces acclaimed red wines. The city’s intact ramparts and pedestrianised centre lend Avignon a small-town, medieval feel. Yet each July, the city goes totally 21st century, as thousands of visitors descend for a contemporary performing arts extravaganza, the Festival d’Avignon.

Aix en Provence (67km)
Aix en Provence is a lively and very appealing town with numerous restaurants and bars near the famous tree-lined Cours Mirabeau, markets on most week-days where you can sample regional produce including Calissons d’Aix (delicious marzipan based confectionery). There are lots of wonderful art galleries all within walking distance from one another in the centre of Aix, shops, music and much more!
